Marking a vibrant start to the May-August 2024 semester, the Directorate of Open, Distance, and E-learning (ODEL) facilitated an impactful orientation program for first-year ODEL students. The training was conducted in collaboration with various university departments aimed at seamlessly integrating the freshmen into the University’s dynamic academic ecosystem. The program provided a comprehensive guide covering essential aspects such as accessing the E- learning system, mastering web conferencing, navigating the student portal, utilizing digital library resources, booking hostels, and applying for credit transfers. Dr. Jonathan Kathenge, Director of ODEL, led the session, and underscored the importance of embracing E-learning in the current global technological trajectory, citing the increasing enrollment of ODEL students while expressing gratitude to supporting departments for enhancing effective E-learning initiatives.
