Academic Registrars from public and private universities across Kenya have convened for a two-day conference organized by the Association of Academic Registrars of Universities in Kenya (AARUK).
The training was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, who emphasized the need for universities to align their curricula with national education reforms, embrace emerging technologies, and uphold academic integrity to enhance the quality, relevance, and competitiveness of higher education.
On the first day, participants engaged in discussions on curriculum alignment with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework, teaching and assessment approaches under CBE, CBE pathways for teacher education, as well as strategies for promoting academic integrity and student success in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The engagement provides a strategic platform for Academic Registrars to exchange experiences, share best practices, and strengthen academic governance and administration across Kenya’s higher education institutions.
