Varsity Hosts Joint Sunday Service Uniting Christian and Muslim Communities

The Chuka University Christian Union Chaplaincy and Muslim Students Association organized a joint Sunday service. Held at the university’s main campus pavilion grounds, the event attracted hundreds of attendees, including students, faculty, and community leaders. The service, themed “Restoration, Faith, Hope, and Justice,” drew inspiration from sacred texts of both faiths. A reading from the Bible, Psalms 37:7-9, proclaimed, “But those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land,” emphasizing the rewards of steadfast faith. Similarly, a verse from the Quran, Surah Yusuf (12:87), reminded attendees to never despair of the mercy of Allah, for only those without faith despair of His mercy. These passages underscored the shared values of resilience, trust in the divine, and the pursuit of justice, resonating deeply with the audience.
