Yesterday, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, accompanied by the Chuka University team, visited dairy goat farmers in Mukurweini to evaluate the progress and celebrate the success of a community-based breeding program.
This impactful initiative is part of the KEN5039 Technical Cooperation Project, which is funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In addition to its fieldwork, the project has provided Chuka University with essential resources to enhance research and training.
The institution takes great pride in collaborating with key partners, including the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), the University of Nairobi, and the dedicated local communities, to promote sustainable livestock production and improve rural livelihoods.
