Enhancing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (CoMeHePS) to address effects of COVID-19 among Primary and Secondary School Learners in Kenya

  • BACKGROUND
  1. NRF recognizes the importance in supporting research undertaken by individual researcher’s/consortium teams in Kenyan Research Institutions. The (CoMeHePS) Consortium has successfully applied for an NRF Research Grant for 1 (one) year project cycle.
  2. The NRF Funding Policy and Guidelines requires a signed Consortium Agreement between the Consortium Coordinating Institution and Collaborating Institutions before the commencement of the approved Consortium Grant.
Enhancing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (CoMeHePS)
PROJECT OBJECTIVES Determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and practices on COVID-19 among primary and secondary school learners from selected counties in Kenya; Assess the effect of COVID-19 on mental health status of primary and secondary school learners from selected counties in Kenya; Assess the effect of COVID-19 on psychosocial wellbeing of primary and secondary school learners from selected counties in Kenya; Provide mental health and psychosocial interventions to primary and secondary school learners who meet intervention thresholds; Evaluate the efficacy of mental health and psychosocial interventions in mitigating COVID-19 related effects;  Build the capacity of teachers who will manage mental health and psychosocial effects related to COVID-19 among primary and secondary school learners from selected counties in Kenya
